St. Paul, MN – I.C. System, one of America’s largest accounts receivable management companies, announced it has hired Don Fitzgerald as Vice President, Corporate Counsel.  Mr. Fitzgerald was previously the President-General Counsel of a consumer debt investment firm and possesses more than 15 years of experience in credit and collections.  He will oversee I.C. System’s Legal, Consumer Affairs, Collection Correspondence, and Records Management Departments.

Mr. Fitzgerald spent the past six years as President-General Counsel of a consumer debt investment firm that he founded.  He was responsible for the overall day-to-day business operations including collection agency contracting and management and collection attorney and litigation management.  Mr. Fitzgerald also formed a collection law firm for in-house pre-litigation collections.

Previously, Mr. Fitzgerald was SVP-Division Counsel for a Top 10 accounts receivable management company.  His responsibilities included advising senior management on all legal aspects of the company, including compliance regarding consumer collections.  Prior to becoming SVP, Mr. Fitzgerald held two other positions, VP-General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer.  Before joining the accounts receivable management company, he represented creditors in commercial collections litigation and post-judgment recovery through his private practice.

Mr. Fitzgerald served as a Surface Warfare Officer for the U.S. Navy.  He graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and the University of Florida College of Law.
