America Online told the Mayor of Oklahoma City that they will be closing a call center there in January. The call center employs 900 people.

Mayor Mick Cornett said that AOL would be telling the employees that their last day would be January 29. He also said that the closing was not a reflection of the call center?s performance; it had to do with AOL?s shifting revenue model.

AOL is in talks with other call center companies to take over the office and possibly retain many of the employees.
