Bank of America Corp. would prefer not to buy a finance company like General Motors Acceptance Corp., according to a report published on Wednesday.


General Motors Corp. said in mid-October that it was considering selling a controlling interest in GMAC, its finance arm. Analysts say such a sale could fetch between $10 billion and $15 billion.
