HOUSTON — Employees of United Recovery Systems, LP, a leading account receivables management company, made a charitable contribution to Texas Children’s Hospital, one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the country.

The money was raised during the company’s annual employee appreciation day but doing so required the cooperation of both management and its other employees.  The company’s managers agreed to let themselves be placed over a dunk tank filled with water.  Employees raised money for Texas Children’s Hospital by paying for the right to dunk their favorite manager with a well-placed fastball.

Both the management team and employees had a great time raising money for charity.  "United Recovery Systems and its employees are honored to give back to an organization, such as Texas Children’s, that gives so much to our community and to children worldwide," said company vice president Keith Dyson.  In September 2010, cardiac surgeons at Texas Children’s implanted a new FDA-approved heart valve in a pediatric patient that eliminated the need for open heart surgery. Since then, two more young patients have received this revolutionary heart valve.

On hand to accept the donation was Camille Landry, Senior Associate Director of Development for Texas Children’s Hospital.  "Charitable contributions are a critical part of Texas Children’s capital expansion program.  As part of our $1.5 billion expansion – the largest in our history – we will open the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute in the Texas Medical Center.  This research institute will be the first facility of its kind dedicated to the collaborative study of pediatric neurological diseases," said Landry.

"I want to thank our employees who worked so hard and came together with tremendous collaborative efforts to raise money for such a worthy cause," said company president Jim Kelleher.
