Collection Bureau Services, Inc. (CBS) and the Sweet Grass County Justice Court and Big Timber City Court announced the signing of a contract for collection of amounts due to those entities.  The State of Montana issued a request for proposal (RFP) in October of 2007.  Ten agencies from across the country responded.  CBS was the only Montana agency that applied.  CBS had the highest score of all agencies, and was awarded a seven year contract after a rigorous review.  Sweet Grass County Justice Court and Big Timber City Court are taking advantage of that contract.

Jeffrey J. Koch, Vice-president of CBS, stated: “We are extremely excited to work with the Sweet Grass County Justice Court and Big Timber City Court.  We understand the need to apply a consistent, assertive collection effort on behalf of Sweet Grass County taxpayers.  While most Montana citizens properly pay their court fines in a timely fashion those who do not should not be allowed to walk away from their properly adjudicated fines.  Our job is to collect those fines, helping keep costs down for Sweet Grass County and the city of Big Timber and inject revenue into their general funds.  CBS has a great deal of experience with government accounts, and already collects for a number of state, county, city and municipal entities.  The Sweet Grass County Justice Court and Big Timber City Court contract gives those entities another avenue to effect collection.  We look forward to the opportunity to assist Sweet Grass County Justice Court, the Big Timber City Court and the taxpayers of Sweet Grass County!”
