Harvey Moore, Esq. of The Moore Law Group, Orange County, California, has been elected president of the California Creditors Bar Association for the 2008 – 2010 term. As head of the largest creditor bar association in the western United States, Mr. Moore will lead the association in its diverse education and advocacy opportunities for its members.

The other newly elected officers are: Flint Zide, principal of Harris & Zide, as First Vice President; Tom Ray, Peck & Ray, as Vice President; Mitchell L. Wong, Gordon & Wong Law Group PC, as Secretary; and the re-election of Darryl J. Horowitt, Coleman & Horowitt LLP, as Treasurer.

Joining as new Board of Directors are: George Cohn, Law Offices of George L. Cohn; Tom Lamore, Collins & Lamore and Arthur Shwachman, JP Morgan Chase. William Goldsmith, Goldsmith & Hall, and Brian Winn, Winn Law Group, both past presidents of CCBA, will now serve as ex-officio Board members.

Harvey Moore’s practice is primarily focused on managing and actively participating in The Moore Law Group’s consumer, commercial and merchant collections practice and advising a number of institutional and banking clients on debt collection related issues including compliance with the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA (and their California equivalents), defending lawsuits brought under those acts and assisting clients in special projects related to debt management and collection, including responses to accord and satisfaction claims.

Mr. Moore is a member of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, the Commercial Law League of America, the ACA International Members’ Attorney Program and the Debt Buyers’ Association. Mr. Moore is serving his second two-year term as a Board Member of NARCA, co-chairs its Laws and Legislation Committee and chairs its Task Force on Debtor/Consolidator Scams and Fraud. Mr. Moore is a member of the NARCA Education Committee. He is also a Founding Member and Member of the Board of Directors of the California Creditors Bar Association. A graduate of the UCLA School of Law (JD), he holds an MBA from the UCLA School of Management (MBA) and his BA from the University of California, Berkeley. He is frequent speaker at conferences throughout the country on Debtor and Consolidator Scams, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Legislative and Administrative Enforcement Agendas in the Credit Industry.
