Columbia Ultimate, a leader in technology and integrated solutions for the collection industry, recently received its Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) Type II certification by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The certification was achieved through the SOC 1 examination report conducted by audit examiners Auditwerx (formerly SAS 70 CPA) and aligns Columbia Ultimate with the industries top standards in data security.

AICPA requires acceptable standards of an SOC 1 examination report, which serves to assure a company’s clients that internal controls are maintained, accurate, reliable and suitably designed to be relevant to the clients’ internal controls over financial reporting.

“The detailed audit conducted by Auditwerx and the resulting SSAE 16 Type II certification speaks to our ongoing commitment to maintain the highest standards of compliance and security when handling our clients’ valuable data,” said Columbia Ultimate President and CEO R. Fred Houston.

SSAE 16 Type II aligns United States and international standards for auditing of control activities over information technology, replacing the SAS-70 certification.

Columbia Ultimate is privately held and headquartered in Vancouver, Washington.  The company provides integrated technology solutions and services to enhance business intelligence, maximize performance and increase the profitability of businesses in the collection industry.  Since 1979, the company has led technological innovation in debt collection software, delivering results-oriented offerings that empower organizations to manage and address new challenges in an increasingly competitive collection environment.
