Local business owe Broward County, FL, about $36 million in back taxes. And Broward County? Wants that money. So, according to a story running in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, they?re looking at hiring a collection agency to help them reap some of their sowed-and-hoped-forgotten cash.



Interim County Administrator Bertha Henry will provide the County Commission with a report detailing a specific plan.



The back taxes backlog came to light earlier this year in an internal audit. What started out as an investigation into companies that had not filed tax returns turned into a watershed of companies that had simply not paid their taxes.
