SunTrust Launches New Visa Consumer Credit Cards

SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced it has launched new SunTrust-branded Visa consumer credit cards with low introductory rates — the SunTrust Visa Signature with SunTrust Rewards; the SunTrust Platinum Visa with SunTrust Rewards; the SunTrust Platinum Visa; and the SunTrust Preferred Visa.

Two of the cards feature SunTrust’s new rewards program providing cardholders the ability to earn SunPoints which can be redeemed for cash back to their account, travel, gift certificates and merchandise.

"With these new cards, we offer a full array of services to meet the varying needs of our clients further strengthening our relationship with them," said C. Gene Kirby, SunTrust corporate executive vice president in charge of its Retail Banking line of business. "Whether they are interested in a lower rate, no pre-set spending limit, or reaping the benefits of our flexible rewards program, there is a new SunTrust card just for them."

In addition to the new rewards program, all of the cards will also have Visa’s contactless technology so cardholders will have a convenient and time saving payment option at their disposal. More than 30,000 merchant locations in the United States accept contactless payments, enabling SunTrust cardholders to simply "wave" their card, instead of swiping the card when making every day purchases. Merchants accepting Visa contactless cards include fast food restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations.
