Acxiom® Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM) announced today that David R. Guzmán has joined the company as Senior Vice President for Information Technology Services.

Guzmán brings nearly 30 years of IT experience to Acxiom and will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s IT systems and network infrastructure. Guzmán was previously senior vice president of technology information services for GSI Commerce.

Also a former senior executive at Alcoa, Kmart and Office Depot, Guzmán has twice been named to the Information Week 500 Top Innovators in Technology list. He has also been recognized in Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders issue and on Business Week’s Web Smart 50 list.

“David is a proven CIO who brings extensive exposure to several industries including retail and financial services, two of Acxiom’s prime markets,” said Acxiom Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President John Adams. “He has both a strong technical grasp and the ability to lead people, which makes him a great addition to the Acxiom team.”

Guzmán, who will report to Adams, is an honors graduate in politics and economics from Yale University. He takes over from Kevin Zaffaroni, who is now senior vice president for Acxiom’s Manufacturing, Distribution and Automotive business segment.
