Athens-based contact centre and debt management services specialists Mellon Collection Services (MCS), have been recognised for their dynamism, innovation and entrepreneurial success by being named as one of Europe?s fastest-growing companies in 2006 Europe?s 500 listing.


Mellon Collections Services was ranked 92nd amongst the 500 companies from 28 European countries, and 4th amongst the 19 Greek companies that were included in the 2006 Europe?s 500 list.


Commenting on Mellon Collections Services success, George Papastamatiou, General Manager of the company, said: ?MCS is renowned as one of the industry?s pioneers; to be recognised on the European stage is an incredible achievement and testament to the vision of our managing director Nicos Petrakopoulos and our commitment in offering our customers top quality expert services. Nonetheless, this distinction belongs primarily to Mellon Collection Services 310 strong team, who put the company among the top 100 of Europe, with their dedication and professionalism ?proof that the returns from investing in people exceed any other investment.?


Altogether, these 500 dynamic, entrepreneurial-driven winning companies have managed to sustain growth since 2002, boosting employment at an impressive average annual rate of 16% and sales at 18%. Despite the challenging business environment, these champions of growth have created nearly 150,000 jobs across Europe in three years. On average each company has created 99 new jobs per year and increased sales by 25 million euros per year.


The 2006 Listing saw the emergence of winners from many of the new EU member states for the first time: Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovenia ? all new qualifiers to the Listing this year, joined the Czech Republic which was listed for the first time in 2005.


Awards will be presented to the winning companies in recognition of their performance and contribution to European economic welfare by European Commission Vice-President, Günter Verheugen, in charge of Enterprise and Industry, at the Europe’s 500 Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner to be held on 25 November at the Hofburg in Vienna.
