The Partners of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., L.P.A. (WWR) are pleased to announce the recent reelection of Alan H. Weinberg as Managing Partner of the Firm and Chuck Pona as a returning member of the Management Committee.  Both were elected for another four-year term which commenced in January 2009.

Mr. Weinberg has served as the Firm’s Managing Partner since 1995 and Mr. Pona has been a member of the Firm’s Management Committee for the past four years.  Other members of the Management Committee include WWR Partners Allen J. Reis, James P. Valecko and Scott S. Weltman.  Senior Partner Bob Weltman is a non-voting member of the Committee while Tim Corman, Chief Operating Officer, serves on the Committee in an ex-officio capacity.  The WWR Management Committee acts as the Board of Directors for the Firm, overseeing the Firm’s financial and operational decisions and attorney and Partner matters.  The Committee also manages the growth and expansion of the Firm.

Before serving as Managing Partner, Mr. Weinberg managed the firm’s Litigation & Defense department.  He received a B.A. magna cum laude , Phi Beta Kappa in Mathematics from the Boston University in 1971 and a J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1974.  A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Mr. Weinberg is licensed in Ohio.  He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern and Southern Districts of OH) and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Mr. Weinberg is currently a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law sections of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Commercial Law League of America, the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, the Northern Ohio Credit Association and the Ohio Creditors Attorneys Association (Educational Chairman).  In addition to being certified as a Creditors’ Rights Specialist by the American Board of Certification, Mr. Weinberg was appointed to Special Counsel by the Ohio Attorney General.  Mr. Weinberg has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer for the past six consecutive years.  He serves as a Board Member for Care Alliance.  Mr. Weinberg can be reached at (216) 685-1100 or aweinberg@weltman.com.

Mr. Pona is a Partner in the Brooklyn Heights office of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., L.PA. and manages the Firm’s Collection Operations.  Mr. Pona earned his B.S. magna cum laude in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University in 1982 and his J.D. from the Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1986.  He is a member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.  Mr. Pona is licensed in Ohio and Pennsylvania and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Ohio and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Mr. Pona is a member of the Commercial Law League of America (Consumer Collections Committee), the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (past President), the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (Auto Benchmark Committee Member) and the Northern Ohio Credit Association.  His community involvement includes the Fraternal Order of Police #27, the Knights of Columbus (Legal Advisor), the Schnurmann House (Board Member) and the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School (Vice President of the Athletic Boosters).  Mr. Pona can be reached at (216) 739-5001 or cpona@weltman.com.
