MAXIMUS, a leading provider of government services, announced today several recently awarded child support contracts in Texas, Illinois, and Iowa totaling $33 million, including option year exercises. The Texas and Illinois contracts are new work for the Company and the Iowa contract is the result of a successful rebid.


In Texas, the Office of the Attorney General has awarded MAXIMUS a three-year, $7 million contract to provide child support services. The contract contains three one-year options that, if exercised, will bring the total contract value to $11.6 million. The project will work closely with employers to improve the payment of child support.


As part of these efforts, MAXIMUS will maintain the Texas Child Support Employer Repository and ensure that employer data is accurate and up to date in order to increase the likelihood that child support payments are withheld from the wages of non-custodial parents. The State is seeking to increase child support collections while minimizing disruption to employers.


In Illinois, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services has selected MAXIMUS for a one-year, $6.6 million contract to provide specialized child support enforcement services in Illinois. Under the terms of this contract, MAXIMUS will focus on modification reviews and related customer service, data entry of court orders, and quality control on legal referrals in Cook County, Illinois. For cases statewide, MAXIMUS will provide enforcement services and customer service with regard to income withholding, the National Medical Support Notice (NMSN) process, the new hire compliance process, and IV-A interface corrections.


The State of Iowa Department of Human Services awarded MAXIMUS a one-year, $2.7 million contract to continue to operate the State’s child support customer service center. The contract contains five one-year options that, if exercised, will bring the total contract value to $15.2 million. MAXIMUS has provided child support customer service assistance to residents of Iowa since 2000, with the initial contract being renewed or extended five times. Today, the State’s customer service center is a nationally-recognized leader in providing quality customer service to custodial and non-custodial parents.
