Thanks in no small part to a large new contract, Nebraska-based West Corp., a communication and BPO services provider, is looking to add about 300 employees to its Pensacola, FL, call center.

Though West Corp. declined to identify the new client, the Pensacola News Journal is reporting that it?s a national cable service provider.

Most of the new hires will handle incoming customer-care calls, answer billing questions or help to address equipment or service issues, David Pleiss, a West Corp. spokesman, said.

Florida?s low unemployment rates could prove a small hurdle for West Corp. More and more job seekers are being pulled away from call center and retail jobs.
