The 1st Annual Debt Connection Symposium & Expo 2006, presented by Dennis and Judy Hammond, September 6 ? 8, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza included a Black Tie Benefit for Children?s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) on Thursday evening, which raised $116,190.00. The tuxedo and evening gown clad attendees of the event at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza enjoyed a steak and lobster meal, were entertained by Jay Leno, who also hosted the Tribute Awards and acted as the auctioneer for the benefit portion of the evening.


Guests eagerly participated in a cocktail hour key raffle, buying a chance to open a locked box to choose a gift enclosed, with raffle items including a diamond necklace from Sterling Jeweler?s Inc., 2 Luxury Box tickets to a Denver Broncos game from Scott & Texie Lowery of Collect America, Ltd., a custom Andrea Zampella Salad Bowl and Salad Serving Set donated by Becket & Lee LLP, and a one-week condo stay in Puerto Vallarta from Progressive Management Systems.


Items auctioned by Mr. Leno included a Harley Davidson Sportster 883, signed by Jay Leno and donated by Absolute Resolutions Corporation; a custom, personalized Nancy and Sluggo Comic Strip, donated by Roger Knauf; a guitar signed by the Rolling Stones with Andy Warhol signed photo and Lip/Tongue logo; an album jacket signed by the Beatles; and a guitar signed by Johnny Cash. Jay Leno also donated two sets of four VIP tickets to the Tonight Show. The winning raffle ticket for a Mercedes XLK-350 lease, donated by PRS Assets LLC and Creditors Interchange was drawn at the conclusion of the auction.


With Dennis standing in as the Statue of Liberty, much to the enjoyment of the audience, Dennis and Judy Hammond announced that they have chosen New York City as the site of next years Debt Connection Symposium & Expo 2007, to be held September 5 ? 7, 2007.


A donation of $2,500 to CHOC from Automated Collection Control, Inc. will be used for their new Music Therapy Program and the benefit proceeds of $113,690 will be used by CHOC to purchase an ECMO Transport Unit.
