Consumer Adjustment Co, Inc (CACi) realizes the importance of information and data security in today’s business environment.  CACi has made significant investment in its information security technologies and personnel over the last three years to obtain another competitive differentiator.  CACi entered into an agreement with Teck Lock Inc, the ARM industry’s leading IT security company to enter the Tech Lock Certified™ program and validate its leading data security program.

“In a competitive industry such as ours, it is sometimes hard to differentiate between agencies and service providers,” says Todd Langusch, Tech Lock’s chief executive officer. “All too often the lowest cost is awarded the business but cheaper is often not always better. Over the years I have examined the data security programs of 250+ companies in the ARM Industry and have noted that over 95% of ARM companies are non-compliant with federal or state regulatory requirements such as GLBA, FISMA, HIPAA / HITECH Act and or Massachusetts’s 201 CMR 17.00. Nearly all organizations were not in full compliance with PCI DSS, an industry standard requirement to all entities that store, process, or transmit cardholder data. CACi stands boldly a part from the pack in abilities to protect consumer and cardholder data.”

CACi has entered into Tech Lock Certified™ Program validate its information security management system against federal requirements such as FISMA, GLBA, HIPAA and the recent HITECH Act; numerous state laws such as Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00: Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth, Nevada Personal Information Law NRS 603a and Senate Bill No.227, and the Minnesota Plastic Card Security Act; and industry standards such as PCI DSS and ISO 27002.

CACi expects to receive Tech Lock Certified™ during the month of August.

“CACi chose Tech Lock Certified™ due to its holistic audit objectives,” says Shawn Farris, CACi’s chief financial officer.  “We feel that the Tech Lock certification will prove to our clients that our technologies and security programs are designed and proven to protect their data. We believe that our clients will see more value in this certification; because it is based on established data security control objectives compared to a SAS70 audit were control objectives are set by the company. Tech Lock Certified is a true validation of security and compliance.”

“CACi has continually invested in our people, processes and technology over the years to maintain agency differentiation,” says Roger Weiss, CACi’s chief operating officer. “In 2004, CACi was one of only 30 agencies in the world to earn the Professional Practices Management System (PPMS) certification through ACA International. We were the first Missouri debt collection agency to sign the “Collector’s Pledge” and now we will be one of the first five agencies in North America to achieve Tech Lock Certified.™
