Ontario Systems announced today that it has certified the Vista operating system for workstations running on its collection applications.

All future releases and modules also will be certified on Vista for the workstation. This provides Ontario Systems’ clients the flexibility to choose Microsoft Vista or XP to run their workstations.

"We continue to enrich our applications, providing our clients with more aggregate value," said Doug Allgood, Ontario Systems’ vice president for research and development. "Our focus remains on creating powerful, flexible systems that enable our clients to maintain their market-leading positions."

The Vista certification joins a list of improved upgrades and enhancements available on FACS version 17.1, Artiva Agency version 3.1, Architect version 2.1 and Artiva Healthcare version 4.0. Additional certified product versions can be found on Ontario Systems’ Client Resource Center.

Other product enhancements include the ability to automatically move agents from one pool to another, without the need to log out and log back in. It also offers whisper, barge-in and commandeer functionality, allowing supervisors to provide greater assistance to agents. For those ready to move to a completely VoIP-based telephony platform, these certified versions also offer the ability to upgrade to Guaranteed Contacts IP.

A benefit exclusive to FACS version 17.1 allows workstation design sets to create different versions of the same window and then create a set of customized windows. For example, clients may have English and Spanish versions of the same windows. Series 7000 windows allow managers to design custom windows, using any FACS field in any combination.

"Our goal is to provide market-leading technology that provides our clients with outstanding choices to grow their businesses," said Peggy Germer, Ontario Systems’ director of quality. "Certifying the Vista operating system for the workstation gives our clients the ability to continue to grow with the latest technology."
