Collection agency and full service accounts receivable management provider Oxford Management Services is moving its headquarters from Long Island to Florida and bringing 225 new jobs with it, according to an article in today’s Palm Beach Post.

Currently headquartered in Melville, N.Y., the company is taking advantage of incentives for job creation offered by St. Lucie County, Fla. County commissioners are due to vote on a $489,000 package for Oxford for the jobs it will create in the town of Fort Pierce. Oxford plans to move all of is senior management team and support staff to the Fort Pierce office, according to the article. The company plans on employing 500 people once the new call center is ramped up.

The new location will present an opportunity for experienced call center workers, according to the Post. Another call center operator in the town, Policy Studies Inc., is slated to close their call center soon, laying off some 170 people.

"We are anticipating moving in September," Carlos Novelli, chief operating officer at Oxford, told the paper.

Oxford opened a new call center in Scranton, Pa., last summer, planning to house some 150 collectors (“Oxford Management Services Opens New Call Center in Scranton,” Aug. 14, 2007). Oxford also has an office in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., about 60 miles south of the new call center, Oxford plans to keep a call center staffed with about 80 people in Melville.
