Accelerated Financial Solutions (AFS), a Portsmouth, VA, financial services company, announced that the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has named AFS to the Chamber’s prestigious 2011 Fantastic 50 list of the fastest growing, privately-held businesses headquartered in Virginia.

“The entire AFS staff is excited about the Chamber’s Fantastic 50 award and being recognized in the top tier of Virginia companies,” said Josh Tawes, AFS’s CEO. “To be presented with this coveted award the first year we were nominated is definitely quite an honor.”

“Seven years ago, AFS was a two man company,” said Anthony Stile, COO. “Today, we have almost 75 employees and a satellite office in Smithfield, VA, but we do not intend on stopping there. Of course, our growth would not be possible without the talented, dedicated staff that we have.”

“The future looks bright for AFS,” said Tawes, pointing out that the company grew significantly both in revenue and in personnel from 2006 to 2009. In 2010, AFS made the Inc. 5000 list, ranking #103 among fast growing financial services companies.

The Fantastic 50 award, which recognizes growing businesses statewide, is the only award of its type in Virginia. To be eligible, a company must be headquartered in Virginia, be privately-held, and record sales between $200,000 to $100 million. Selection is also based on a company’s past four year revenues.
