It’s 2012. Let’s take a look at what Bill Barton has in his Bag of Crazy ™.

The world of debt collection will never be the same,” says Bill Bartmann, CEO and founder of America’s most consumer-friendly collection agency, CFS II.

Oh, good. It’s basically 2011′s Bag of Crazy ™, so I don’t have to find the receipt.

Bartmann is still hawking his Pledge, and asserting that those agencies that don’t sign the pledge probably aren’t ethical. And while Bartmann doesn’t mention ACA’s own Collectors’ Pledge (which doesn’t seek to dictate business practices so much as it’s a roadmap for better behavior), Bartmann is probably throwing a little shade at the ACA and others critical of his “mission”:

Bartmann knows that his claims and arguments are unpopular in the debt collection industry and he generates a lot of criticism from his competitors and the industry trade associations. “My goal is not popularity. My goal is to make debt collectors treat consumers in a civilized manner,” he concludes.

Oh Bill, this world may not be meant for one as beautiful as you.
